Milano 2021: Wittmann @ Elle Decor Italia
During the Milan Design Week, WITTMANN has shown selected models of the current collection in cooperation with Elle Decor Italia in the exhibition "La Casa Fluida" (The Fluid Home) in the historic Palazzo Bovara. The aim and content of this installation, curated by Elisa Ossino Studio, was to stage the metamorphosis of the domestic space. It told of a future that already exists in the present. The design community received this action with enthusiasm, over 30,000 visitors wanted to experience the exhibition live:
It´s time, more than ever, to reflect on the domestic dimension. The experience of the pandemic has made us all more aware and let us understand how the place where we live must meet new needs. In addition to architecture and interior design, comfort, the flexibility of spaces and functions, the immediacy of advanced technological interfaces, sustainability and the fundamental relationship with nature play a fundamental role.
From these premises, »Fluid Home« was conceived: it is an exhibition installation - created by Elisa Ossino Studio with the landscape design by Marco Bay – which tells, through an immersive experience, the news ways of living. Colours, lights, shapes, textures, and materials, have been chosen to represent an organic, flexible, and informal home. Great attention was paid to the choice of low environmental impact coatings and furnishings, easy to sanitise. Then the home, like a second skin, comes to represent shelter, protection, affections, but also the place where to study, work, relax: a principle which is valid for all 11 areas of the exhibition, including the outdoors, not to be visited and experienced as mere spectators, but as actors.
Visitors will have the chance to move in an extremely flexible space designed starting from modular elements that define a fluid ecosystem, capable of reshaping itself over and over, in infinite different ways. In this ever-changing project, colour becomes a therapeutic element capable of improving psychological well-being; music nourishes the soul and is a source of inspiration; acoustic insulation allows people to live together, carrying out different activities without interfering with each other. »Fluid Home« is the accurate snapshot of home's metamorphosis: from an eminently residential role to persistent dynamism, in a total hybridization of functions and perceptions.
With the possibility of »touching« a domestic space of the future that already exists in the present.
